I ended my last blog by mentioning that there was shooting going on between Lebanon and Israel but that I had not heard any details. Today I want to return to this subject, because as usual, many in the world blamed Israel for this outbreak of hostilities. Now I want to give all the details, so that  you can judge fairly for yourselves. Lebanese snipers shot and killed an Israeli commander, who was overseeing routine tree-pruning maintenance on Israel’s side of the northern border. A second officer was seriously wounded, all this in spite of the fact that the maintenance work was fully coordinated with the U.N. peacekeeping force in  southern Lebanon. Israeli soldiers near the Lebanon border needed to clear bushes in a certain area, in order to prevent Hizbullah terrorists from hiding in the undergrowth, to prevent them from carrying out an attack or kidnapping in the future.

The UNIFIL soldiers were informed of this maintenance work long in advance and they shared this information with the Lebanese army. It is an open secret that the Lebanese army has been infiltrated by Hizbullah sympathisers and operatives, so of course this information was shared by them too. So this incident was a pre-planned and staged ambush, for otherwise why were so many journalists and photographers right at the scene before the deadly exchange of fire between Lebanese and Israeli forces took place, as I said, the latter only performing routine maintenance work by the security fence near the border in sovereign Israeli territory. So why did so many news agencies report that the Lebanese army was acting in self-defence? The fact that journalists were standing next to the Lebanese soldiers right at that time, shows that they knew Israel was going to do maintenance work just then and that  shooting would surely occur                                                  .

So here again we seem to have UN complicity in an attempt to blacken and blame Israel for everything bad going on. There is a long list of the different UN agencies, including the Goldstone report which show the constant
delegitamization of Israel by them.

The present heat wave seems to have no end - the weather forcasts usually say, one day a little down, and the next a lot up.
There have been a few forest fires, but our emergency services managed to put all out in a reasonable time. We hear that in some European countries the heat is even worse, and many people there don’t have airconditioning in their homes -
so in that respect we are better off, although of course we use a lot of electricity, and nearly every day we are warned to try and use less electrical equipment  in order to prevent a breakdown.

That’s all for today. Shalom from Irene
