It’s almost midday now, and so far there have been two alerts in Haifa, heard booms far off, but don’t know any details yet.

Haven’t left the house yet today, but intend to do so later in the afternoon – drives me crazy being shut up at home. (of course I know I shouldn’t go out, but that’s me ……)

Listened a bit to the radio today and heard an interesting explanation from Naassralla, the Hizballa leader, as to why he started shooting the rockets and kidnapped the soldiers. He had heard from “reliable” sources that Israel was intending to attack Lebanon in a couple of months, so in order to prevent the advantage that would give us, if we began first with a surprise attack, he began the fight first! Such a ridiculous explanation, it’s hard to believe that any normal person would or could believe it, not only the Arabs, but the “enlightened” westerners as well, but there are sure to be many who think this is the truth. It’s almost 10.00 o’clock at night and I’m only now starting my daily diary, and I think it will be very short.

I was away from home for most of the day, went to Kibbutz Givat Hayim Miuhad, south of Hadera. My grandson Guy informed methis morning that he had taken the day off from work and was going to visit his mother and young brother in the kibbutz, so of course I took advantage of this opportunity of going there too, because not only are Tami and Kfeer staying there, but also my daughter Gila and Tomer too. When Guy’s eldest brother Amir heard about our visit, he too, with wife and daughter came to the kibbutz from nearby Benjamina where they are staying with Tali’s sister, so there were 9 of us together today.
