I can only assume it was a Biden-inspired moment when Obama sought to tutor Romney on the obsolescence of bayonets and horses in our military, and on those incredible ships you can land planes on and others that go underwater.

It was a clear oversight that Romney didn't thank the President for the enlightenment even though the Marines still employ bayonets, a statue has just been unveiled near Ground Zero in tribute to our horse soldiers of the rough terrain of Afghanistan, and our Navy has desired a few more of those maritime marvels to toy with.

Otherwise, an admirable expression of foreign policy experience.
