Editor:

It is time to recap the mean and angry words to come from Mike Barrett's mouth when trying to trash VBTA. Here are samples:

Kooks, bizarre, irrational, extreme, radical, out of touch, group of old men, unenlightened, regressive, lunatic fringe, bizarre ideology, raving anti-government lunatics, venomous and vitriolic personal attackers, extreme, smug, superior attitude, rile and venomous rants, pompous, doom and gloom and more.

He must be one swell guy! NOT! Sounds more like mental illness.

Henry Ryto  - Give Mike Credit For Being Honest |76.161.1.44 |07-12-2010 20:23:24
Everything in the second paragraph does in fact apply to the VBTA.
Mike Barrett |216.54.27.206 |07-13-2010 08:13:06
As you know, Ben, I have not been kind to the views of the VBTA. Your behavior toward those less fortunate in this community, especially at public hearings, has been despicable. Apparently, the voters agree, as the last time you put up a candidate, he could garner less than 16% of the vote.

At some point, don't you think that you and the so called leadership of the organization should step back and try to understand why the VBTA has slipped so far to the extreme that the views of the organization are now ignored by most, reviled by many?

Regretfully, with leaders like Robert Dean, Reid Greenmun, and you, anger and disdain of anyone with different views is the norm, so change will only occur with the dissolution of the VBTA.
Henry Ryto  - 1,083 Signatures |76.161.1.44 |07-13-2010 18:32:54
Mike, you forgot getting only 1,083 of 282,307 registered voters to sign their petitions to put light rail to referendum. Such a colossal debacle would have sounded alarm bells with rational human beings.

Instead, they now believe 99.62% of registered voters are stupid. That's an invitation for what's left of the VBTA to implode.
Mike Barrett |67.62.94.176 |07-14-2010 02:43:41
Good point Henry, and in fact, I think they have imploded; the so called leadership has just not gotten the message. Rational citizens can support consideration opposing points of view, but their so called leaders for life are so immune to the process of community discussion, negotiation, and compromise that for them, they simply pontificate and expect the rest of us to go along with their wild and crazy ideas. Time for the few remaining zealots to sail off into the sunset.
French Mackes  - A Response to Radical Leftists Mike Barrett & Henr |67.62.94.176 |07-15-2010 01:06:56
To Radical Leftists Marxists / Socialists / Democrats Mike Barrett & Henry Ryto:

What is the connection between you two?

Are you now or have you ever been a member of either/or the Communist Party, Democratic Party, or Marxist Party?

Will you honestly publicly confess to the public that you are Marxists who along with Barack Hussein Obama consider the Constitution of the United States of America to be a "fundamentally flawed" document?

As dedicated Marxists you spend a lot of your time and energy mocking and belittling men and women who boldly oppose your liberal world view. Your strategy may indeed be effective.

There are few Americans left willing to stand up and oppose you.

Know that I publicly stand in opposition to you and all that you stand for.

How do you lefties think your Democratic Congress representatives will do in the November 2010 elections?

Sadly, the Republicans are also to the left of center.

The Democratic Party is the radical le...

Only a nut like French Mackes would try to label a devout Catholic like me a "Marxist".

No, I have never belonged to any of those three political parties.

Then, French may consider joining them. Given that he's been a flop as a Republican and Constitution Party candidate, they may have the only tickets willing to have him.

Henry Ryto:

You may attend a Catholic Church.

However, you support far leftist policies that align with the Democratic/Marxist/Socialist Party. Do you support legalized abortion? Do you hope to change the Catholic Church's current stance against legalized abortion?

Mr. Ryto, you call me a "nut" because you disagree with me. There is nothing polite about your name calling.

In the future, perhaps we will personally meet and I'll teach you a lesson about the personal ramifications of online name calling.

You disgust me. You, Henry Ryto, are directly contributing to the decline of the United States of America. The world would be much better off without you in it.

Keep up with the name calling and you'll see where it gets you.

“Since the early origins of the State, its rulers have always turned, as a necessary bolster to their rule, to an alliance with society’s class of intellectuals. The masses do not create their own abstract ideas, or indeed think through these ideas independently; they follow passively the ideas adopted and promulgated by the body of intellectuals, who become the effective “opinion moulders” in society. And since it is precisely a moulding of opinion on behalf of the rulers that the State almost desperately needs, this forms a firm basis for the age-old alliance of the intellectuals and the ruling classes of the State. The alliance is based on a quid pro quo: on the one hand, the intellectuals spread among the masses the idea that the State and its rulers are wise, good, sometimes divine, and at the very least inevitable and better than any conceivable alternatives. In return for this panoply of ideology, the State incorporates the intellectuals as part of the ruling elite, granting ...

I guess I had too many characters in my quote.

Cont:

"the State incorporates the intellectuals as part of the ruling elite, granting them power, status, prestige, and material security. Furthermore, intellectuals are needed to staff the bureaucracy and to “plan” the economy and society.”

For those of you who may either be posting or reading these posts and at the same time remain welfare leeches sucking on the bloodstream of capitalism and free enterprise and the sweat of the brow of the real producers. Murray N. Rothbard was the author of the 1973 Libertarian Manifesto, "For a New Liberty."
