ireneThere can be no negotiations when only one party comes to the table.  Our Middle East Blogger Irene tells the story of the 5th anniversary of the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit by Hamas terrorists.

It is thought he’s being held in the Gaza Strip, but no one, not even the International Red Cross, has been  allowed to visit or talk with him, assuming he’s still alive.

Unlike the way Israeli captives are handled, Palestinian prisoners are treated humanely, allowed regular visits, television,  phone call and university - level educational opportunities. Now Israeli PM has cracked down on the lenient treatment of those prisoners.

And as another hostile flotilla launches toward Gaza, PM Nantanyahu is threatening to meet threat with Israeli force.  Read Irene’s “A Tenuous Peace … Life in Israeli.”
