In his blog this week, VNS municipal blogger Bob O’Connor reports from Behind the 8-Ball that control groups organized around the private interests of politicians and their developer friends are the real governing force in the Resort City.

People used to think it was focused on the Oceanfront industry, but that’s passé.  

The real thieves are circling the wagons around light rail and massive development can will occur as a result.

The Oceanfront crowd is out of fashion, for the most part, with beach politicians and city leaders.  There’s more money elsewhere to be made, and O’Connor explains how it happens and who the players are.
