"All he'd have to do is drop out, help assure Sessoms defeat, even if it is by Rick and he'd be everybody's darling." Erb has told VNS he will not drop out. He came in at the bottom of a poll run by the Virginian-Pilot recently. The poll was led by Kowalewitch.
The others endorsed by the VBTA are Kenny E. Golden, former chairman of the Virginia Beach GOP, an at large candidate opposing incumbent Rosemary Wilson; C. L. Smith Jr., also a former chairman of the Virginia Beach Republican party and lawyer, running for the Kempsville seat being vacated by the retirement of Harry Diezel. Weeks is also seeking that seat;
lawyer David M. McCormick is opposing incumbent Glenn Davis for the Rose Hall council seat.
The other endorsements were for incumbent Ashley K. McLeod, at large, Stephen A. Johnston, at large, Eric V. Wray, for the Centerville District, and Chris D. Arney for the Rose Hall District.
VBTA did not endorse candidates running unopposed.
The VBTA is the city’s oldest citizen activist organization working for conservative government principles and transparency.
