A former associate said, "We don't know what has gotten into Wally.  Is it ego?  A midlife crisis? in the past I've considered him a very valuable political resource to our cause, but his candidacy for mayor has estranged him from most of us.

"All he'd have to do is drop out, help assure Sessoms defeat, even if it is by Rick and he'd be everybody's darling."  Erb has told VNS he will not drop out.  He came in at the bottom of a poll run  by the Virginian-Pilot recently. The poll was led by Kowalewitch.

The others endorsed by the VBTA are Kenny E. Golden, former chairman of the Virginia Beach GOP, an at large candidate opposing incumbent Rosemary Wilson; C. L. Smith Jr., also a former chairman of the Virginia Beach Republican party and lawyer, running for the Kempsville seat being vacated by the retirement of Harry Diezel.  Weeks is also seeking that seat;
lawyer David M. McCormick is opposing incumbent Glenn Davis for the Rose Hall council seat.

The other endorsements were for incumbent Ashley K. McLeod, at large, Stephen A. Johnston, at large, Eric V. Wray, for the Centerville District, and Chris D. Arney for the Rose Hall District.

VBTA did not endorse candidates running unopposed.

The VBTA is the city’s oldest citizen activist organization working for conservative government principles and transparency.

I've got my "RK for Mayor" sign in front of the house and I hope to have Smith, Golden and McCormick's signs out there soon.

Fear not, gentle readers, the time for Sessoms and the rest of the arrogant members of city council to honor themselves to fast drawing to an end.

We'll have our new "Peoples' Mayor" and great fiscal conservatives to join Moss and DeSteph on City Council. Imagine how dejected you are if you manage Armada Hoffler!

Thomas Jefferson will be smiling when that combination of candidates is sworn-in.
