A woman who tried to intervene when a group of teens started harassing a MAX light rail passenger ended up getting attacked herself.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, a 28-year-old woman saw a group of teens verbally harassing an older passenger. She decided to say something, causing the teens to call her racially derogatory names.
Follow up:
As the MAX train reached the station, the teens began to hit the woman with their purses as well as a can of soda. One also stole her purse.
Police later arrested four teens in the assault, charging them with robbery, assault and intimidation. Three were 15 and the fourth was only 14.
Detectives were still looking for a fifth suspect.
The victim said Wednesday she was still shaken up by the incident and was thinking of going to the hospital because her head still hurt from the assault. It was her first trip ever on the MAX.
