I agree that there is no reason for the council to extend city utilities to Burton Station (all-black subdivision without) and to defer financing upgrades to the animal shelter (dogs and cats don't vote). The city has been trying to years to force the blacks at Burton station to sell out so their area can be turned into an industrial park. If they'd do that, they'd have money to take advantage of a down real estate market, get a descent home, and live more sanitary at taxpayers' expense.

And there's nothing to fear from the state enforcing state law against the animal shelter's violations of sanitary conditions. It has more on its plate than it can handle without worry about Virginia Beach.

We need jobs and Sessoms has the plan to bring high paying jobs to the beach. Remember what he said during his campaign?

I wouldn't be too sure about the state Veterinarian 'having more on' his plate than he can handle-he's watching this situation VERY carefully. Although a patient man, I wouldn't try him-it could cost us $1000.00 per day.
Sadly, the city of Virginia Beach has no LEGAL OBLIGATION to provide entertainment for someone's kids or to 'stimulate' the largest group of Sessoms campaign supporters, the construction/developers interests, but a shelter that does meet state requirements is simply the law-Sessoms refuses to obey that law and for that he will be held to account.
