Creigh Deeds?- Don’t Trust Your Soul To No Back Woods Southern Lawyer

Those lyrics sung by Vicki Lawrence back in the mid-seventies seem to ring true for this upcoming match up between Bob McDonnell and Creigh Deeds. To be fair and balanced between VNS bloggers, I have taken the side of McDonnell, which I might add is my honor and privilege.
Follow up:
Unlike others I will not personally attack the candidate. I will however bring up the issues that are contrary and Deeds’ vulnerabilities. First and foremost is Deeds’ allegiance to rural Virginia. There was none more disheartened than Deeds when HB 3202 (Transportation funding; authority to certain localities to impose additional fees) was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Deeds hasn’t had much sympathy for the transportation problems in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads and has been an obstacle on that issue in the Senate.
Deeds professes to continue on the path of Governor’s Warner and Kaine. As we can remember, the former Governors’ campaigns talked of no raises in taxes. Yet since, we have has largest tax increases in the history of Virginia. True to form, Deeds is no conservative or moderate on fiscal issues. When it comes to governmental spending, Deeds is in the President Obama’s camp of unfunded mandates, stimulus packages and bailouts. Deeds is one of the most, if not the most, prolific tax-hiker in Richmond. If one tries to ostracize McDonnell on HB3202, one only needs to look to Deed’s support of SB6009 – which had increases in the sales tax, gas tax, and auto tax, plus regional tax increases.
There will be more later. Humming, Don’t Trust Your Soul To No Back Woods Southern Lawyer, un-huh.

At least Deeds was looking out for his constituents. Isn't that what he's supposed to do?
What's your position on the 2nd amendment, Wally? Enough said.
How does McDonnell go from a conservative legislator from VB, one could be proud to vote for, to an Attorney General that ran "Left" as fast as possible?
As the former chairman of the Tidewater Libertarian Party, Wally, I know that you are aware of the watered down disgrace of an excuse for Eminent Domain reform that McDonnell pushed for along with Terrie Suit. Thank goodness that garbage failed and we got REAL Eminent Domain reform the following year. Thanks to real conservatives like Cuccinelli, Bell, and yes, conservative Democrat Johnny Joannau, we still have property rights in Virginia.
Prior to the ouster of Chairman Frederick, Frederick's public statement of difference with Charles Darwin's theories was publicly ridiculed by some Republicans. If McDonnell truly felt that Frederick was incompetent fine, but why did he sit still and silently watch Frederick's faith be lampooned by fellow RPV members? Could he not condemn that while maintain that Frederick should still be fired? Even if you believe Darwin's theories to be true, was it not less than honorable to label Frederick a fool based on his religion? Where was the leadership?
Back woods southern lawyer.... suburban lawyer movin' on up to the big city, I could care less. Its actions that count.
Folks: We are in dire straits. There is no better than the worst.
