Virginia Beach Light Rail – Exclusion

It has come to Virginia News Source attention
that the Virginia Beach Taxpayer Alliance (VBTA) has been refused a citizen input “seat at the table” during Virginia Beach’s light rail study. The taxpayer watchdog group complains that light rail supporters and business interests are selectively stacking the selection process, which includes citizen input, to provide a predetermined outcome.
Norfolk Light Rail Land Grabbers

The land grab predators are descending in Norfolk. In west Norfolk, along the light rail line, lies a commercial/residential area between Curlew Drive and I-64.

It appears that VDOT’s initiative to close some 19 Virginia interstate rest areas has become the major gubernatorial political fodder of the day. Similar to the TV quiz program, Name That Tune, we have each of the candidates bidding on the reopening of the areas.

President Barack Obama and a Democratic Congress campaigned vowing on budget reform and the ending of earmarks. This past week, the Pentagon spending bill was approved by a House panel. It contained earmarks to companies and special interest whose employees contributed to their congressional campaigns.
