Several passengers were injured after a Metro light rail train collided with a Metro bus and derailed.

The bus ran a red light and collided with a train at about 3:30 p.m., investigators said.

"It was just horrible," said light rail passenger. "At the moment I didn't know what to think. It was just something that happened really fast. It just took me by surprise."

The Metro bus driver and eight passengers were transported to area hospitals.

"I just fell back and didn't say anything," seventh-grade student who was taking the train home from school.

"I was just having flashbacks," he said. "Its just like having your life flash in front of you."
