Integrity, character, dignity, and honor?
Rigell campaign ignores rules, ordinances, and respect.
At the Third CAC forum held Thursday, August 19, Scott Rigell’s hero versus villain melodrama campaign played out its “bad guy” trump cards. The villain, Congressman Glenn Nye, calmly handled each accusation without unnerving his composure, dispelling those that related to questions. Rigell threw out prepared sound bite barbs; however, they were poorly timed, unrelated to the moderator’s question, and ignored by Nye. At one point, Rigell got so wrapped-up in his diatribe that when it ended, the moderator had to ask what his response was to the posed query. Rigell replied with “Yes”. If our superhero has fired his best salvos, our villain may be able crush his opponent with kryptonite rebuttals and subtle recriminations now that the Rigell campaign has shown the extent of their bag of tricks.
Follow up:
"Scott Rigell will bring integrity, character, dignity, and honor to Washington" - Gen. Carl E. Mundy Jr., USMC
But the most telling and distressing was our superhero’s blatant disregard to the ground rules and instructions by the event’s organizers. There weren’t supposed to be any political paraphernalia, other than a lapel sticker, on school property such as flyers, candidate t-shirts, signs, or materials on the candidate dais. Needless to say the Princess Anne High School foyer was a gauntlet of Rigell literature and trinkets. Sporting blue Rigell t-shirts, the auditorium seats were filled with junior league adolescents clapping repeatedly when asked repeatedly not to interrupt the proceedings.
Outside on Virginia Beach Blvd, youthful hirelings were waving Rigell yard signs on the median; blocking sidewalks with hand-held 4x8 Rigell billboards, and disrupting traffic.
One would think it was just over-exuberance and limited to the volunteers. Unfortunately, that belief was dispelled when Rigell himself on stage produced a Nye franked information bulletin from his inside breast jacket pocket.

Clearly, he is following the McWaters playbook with signs all over the place and the Cantor playbook with attacks on the Speaker of the House.
But what really does Rigell offer? Anyone who claims he has been a leader in this community has to do so with no reference to reality. He does have very rich friends, I guess that is his best attribute.
I'm sure they expect nothing in return.
I was at the debate, and my impression is there were a ton of Rigell supporters there..... because he has a ton of supporters in the community.
I also didn't get the same impression, I felt Rigell/Golden/Nye all engaged in a very civil debate. Did Rigell call Nye out on some of his votes, like supporting the stimulus? Yes, but I never got the impression he was ever over the line.
What about the Pelosi permission remark? Is that factual? Did not the final amendments issued at the eleventh hour not have provisions for Tricare, and subsequently Nye Voted it down? What about the franking flyer. Where in the in questions asked by the moderator was that germane, needless to say that no materials were permitted on the dias?
